Mixing metals is a unique way of adding colour and texture to a jewellery piece, and is becoming more and more popular ~ whether it be a precious metal mix or a base metal mix, or a combination of the two.
For these owls I've used sterling silver and copper... instantly, you can see a more defined piece, than if I'd just used the one metal ~ the wings against the body and the definition of the eyes. Well, I think so... but then I suppose I would be slightly biased, as I do love the metal mix!
The handcrafted 'heart' and 'star' pendant also look more detailed. I love the golden hues of brass and the orange tones of copper ~ both look equally stunning against the cool of the silver and each other!
